Thanks for stopping by, let me tell you a little about who I am, and what I do... I'm Kathryn, and I am an experienced, qualified & fully insured independent celebrant based in Cheadle, Staffordshire. With experience working as a celebrant across the country since 2017, I am familiar with writing and conducting bespoke ceremonies for families and couples alike.

To reassure you of my credentials, I trained and qualified to diploma level four with Civil Ceremonies as I believe that we should all educate ourselves in our chosen field of vocation or career to a professional standard.

Undoubtedly this is a vocation, and one I adore, I love meeting families and being of service in supporting them through the most significant times of their lives, to provide a fitting ceremony with sensitivity and empathy.
I am a spiritualist and so can also officiate Spiritualist services or enhance any ceremony with a more spiritual context if so wished.

I am passionate about life's ceremonies and celebrations, whether that is weddings, civil partnerships, renewal of vows, welcoming a baby or child into a family, saying goodbye to a loved one, or any other of the numerous life events.

If you have someone in mind to conduct your ceremony (Funeral or Wedding), I can offer a ’Script only’ service too.

The main part of the role of a celebrant is to officiate ceremonies of course, whether a wedding, a funeral, a naming ceremony or something super special and symbolic, as celebrants we get to celebrate life in all it’s glory and make people happy. Even funeral ceremonies will celebrate the life of the deceased and share the good times.

A celebrant’s role is to capture the heart of the family or couple and pull this together and officiate a ceremony filled with meaningful content and to recognise and celebrate significant events, milestones and values.

Regardless of the ceremony, I always offer the same essential services, and they are:

Unlimited contact via face to face meetings, virtual, phone, email and text – This time is very important for me to get to know you, your family and friends and incorporate all elements into a fitting ceremony.

Close liaison with your chosen Venue/Arranger/Funeral Director to ensure all aspects of the service are planned and all parties are on the same page.

Preparation of the contents of the service which can be altered right up until the day before the ceremony - including recommending and offering a selection of poetry, songs or hymns suited to the occasion.

Conducting the service on the day – ensuring a calm and smooth delivery.

WHERE AND WHEN CAN YOU CONDUCT A CEREMONY?

The answer is, pretty much anywhere (apart from on consecrated ground, as previously mentioned). It can be indoors or outdoors as a celebrant ceremony doesn't need to be in a licensed building or structure; one thing I can't do though is predict the weather so it's always a great idea to have a Plan B or great wet weather gear!

A ceremony conducted by a celebrant does not have to be in a licensed building or structure so you really do have few restrictions. If you want a funeral to be conducted outside of a crematorium or cemetery, you should chat with your Funeral Director who will be more than happy to help you; or I can always do this for you too.

So, if you have a dream location for your ceremony, just make sure you have permission to be there and your dream really can come true! A beach, woodland, field or garden can all make beautiful settings for your day.

And so long as the venue is happy, your ceremony can take place at any time of day to suit you.

What could be more flexible than that?!
